Dr Ron Muratore was a sports physician at Gladesville Medical from 2008 to 2013.
Dr Muratore has experience in paediatrics, general practice (having previously been in practice in Gladesville for a period of 17 years) and sports and exercise medicine. Ron obtained the Fellowship of the Australasian College of Sports Physicians in 1996. In the past 30 years Ron has lectured to multiple sporting groups, clubs and general practitioners on all aspects of injury prevention and treatment. His special interests are paediatric sports medicine, overuse injuries, exercise induced leg pain (compartment syndrome), and he is one of the few clinicians in Sydney performing compartment pressure testing. He also has an interest in workplace injury management and rehabilitation.
Dr Ron is currently Chief Medical Officer for the NRL and member of the Rugby League Research Board and has recently been appointed to the New South Wales Sporting Injuries Committee.
His past team involvements have included Holy Cross College Ryde, Balmain Junior Rugby League Football Club, Balmain District Rugby League Football Club, Drummoyne Rugby, Ryde Eastwood Rugby League Football Club, Sydney Olympic Football Club, Australian National soccer teams ranging from under 17’s to Socceroos, St Josephs College Hunters Hill and most recently the Prime Minister’s XIII Rugby League Team.
